FAQ
FAQ
Q: Will this pad fix my hammer toe?
A: No, it will only straighten a flexible claw toe type hammer toe when it is worn. Typically, surgery is necessary to fix a hammer toe. Check out my YouTube episode on hammer toe solutions https://youtu.be/2WBOkFYx0kw to learn more.
Q: How long can the pad be worn each day?
A: It can be worn up to several hours during the day for weightbearing activities but should be left off for at least 4 hours during the day. It is also is recommended to remove at night time for bed. If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to remove and readjust the elastic band. If discomfort continues, remove and contact you doctor/ podiatrist or healthcare practitioner.
Q: How long will the pad last?
A: With good care and being gentle with elastic band adjustment it can last several months to a year. I have had patients use this type of crest pad for years though.
Q) Is a suede crest pad cushioned enough?
A) It’s lower profile and less cushioned than gel. But it is still very effective. If you have sensitive skin or feet, gel is a better option. Good for dress shoes and more narrow toe boxes.
