Frequently asked questions

  • Toe protectors cushion and shield toes from friction, pressure, and shoe rubbing. They reduce irritation on corns, calluses, hammer toes, and sensitive skin while preventing blisters and worsening inflammation.
  • Most of the day. Most medical-grade gel protectors are designed for daily wear. But should be removed/ left off at least 4 hours a day and not worn to bed. If you’re new to them, start with a a couple hours and gradually increase the usage time . The adhesive felt corn pads should also be removed at bedtime. Constant use of the toe protectors was cause skin maceration.
  • Much of the time but not for every condition. It depends on the severity of the toe deformity involved. They relieve pain by removing the mechanical cause — friction and pressure. When irritation stops, inflammation decreases and tissue can heal. However, I always recommend seeing your podiatrist or doctor for foot pain.
  • • Toe caps: Cushion tips, knuckles of toes and between toes. Better for a claw toe * Toe Sleeve: Cushions toe knuckle not the tip. Better for regular hammer toe. • Spacers/separators: Keep toes apart and reduce rubbing between them. -Can help reduce corns between toes. • Protective adhesive felt corn pads: Offload pressure from specific sore spots, especially a sore toe knuckle or corn on a hammer toe
  • They’re ideal for people with: • Corns or calluses on toes • Hammer toes • Overlapping toes • Pain from tight shoes • Blister-prone skin • Athletes with repetitive toe friction like soccer and football players, runners, and hikers
  • Diabetics, people with neuropathy (numbness tingling in feet), people with poor circulation should not wear anything that goes around the toe circumferentially without checking with their foot doctor first.
  • If you are having pain, it is always recommended to see a foot doctor first before self-treating. This is especially important if you have: • Diabetes • Numbness or neuropathy • Open wounds • Severe pain • Infection signs • Rapidly worsening toe deformity Toe protectors help symptoms, but they don’t replace diagnosis when something serious is present.
  • They do not permanently correct deformities, but spacers and separators can temporarily improve alignment and reduce friction, which helps symptoms and slows worsening.
